JOE CLARK, JR. WINS IN ARIZONA:

Joe Clark, Jr., of Owl’s Nest Golf Club in Campton, won the Arizona Longbow Senior Open last week, in Mesa, Arizona.

Clark completed a wire to wire victory with scores of 66-71-68 to edge out three-time UGGOA winner, Robin Freeman, a PGA Tour veteran. This was Clark’s first victory on the UGGOA Circuit and it was done on some of the fastest greens on the history of the Tour.

In the fifty-four tournament holes played, Clark had 38 pars, 11 birdies, 1 eagle and only 4 bogies.

PGA Tour veteran Dave Rummels was overheard saying: ‘These are the fastest greens I have ever played on, next to the US Open and Ryder Cup course: Oakmont in PA.’ The greens ran at least 13 on the stint meter, and only got faster on the slopes.

The Longbow Open showcased the strongest field to date in the UGGOA circuit and included many other seasoned PGA Tour Players.

When asked how he felt about his victory, Clark stated: ‘I am very proud and humbled to have competed and won against this strong field’.
